The most important to-do for travelling abroad is to arrange a cost-effective means of staying in touch with family & friends in the home country. Most people opt for local mobile networks in a foriegn country rather than making use of roaming services which are more expensive than buying a new network sim. However, it is not easy to choose a mobile network with the best packages and connectivity when you are new in a foriegn country and not familiar with the local mobile networks. You may end up paying more.
Zong, realizing the dilema of its customes, has launched a “Roam Like Home” offer for Zong customers travelling to Saudia Arabia. This offer gives the lowest international roaming rates that are equivalent to rates offered to customers at home. These can be enjoyed while availing roaming on Saudia Arabia’s Zain Network.
The Zong users will be charged Rs 0.25/second (exclusive of taxes) for outgoing calls to both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Apparently, these rates are lowest in comparison to both Pakistani and Saudi Arabian operators.
The offer is activated without any prior subscription charges on all Zong prepaid customers. The only requirement for customers is to activate the International Roaming access level by dialing the 310 helpline or visiting a service center prior to their travel.
In this regard, Mr Sajid Mehmood Chief Regulatory Officer (CRO) & Chief Admin Officer (CAO) Zong noted that
“Zong has always been at the forefront in terms of facilitating its customers in international travel. Our Roam Like Home offer will, in particular, assist the vast number of Pakistanis planning Umrah this Ramadan, at rates that are the lowest in the market.”
Zong has launched this service at the right time since a large number of Pakistanis will be travelling to Saudia Arabia during the holy month of Ramadan. The mobile operator also offers the lowest international rates of Rs. 1.00/minute +tax for calling both on mobile and landline to 12 destinations including USA, UK, Canada, Denmark, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong and India.
