Shahid Lund, the infamous leader of the Lund gang and a highly sought-after criminal from the Katcha area, has been killed in a successful joint operation carried out by Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police.
This significant victory against dangerous criminals occurred in Kacha Bangla Acha, where the two police forces collaborated to eliminate Lund, according to a spokesperson for Punjab Police. Lund had been the subject of a Rs 10 million bounty by the Punjab government as a result of his involvement in a number of abhorrent offenses.
Dr. Usman Anwar, the Inspector General of Police of Punjab, commended the Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police forces for their efforts, emphasizing that the elimination of terrorists, dacoits, and miscreants from the riverine area continues to be a top priority for law enforcement.
The spokesperson disclosed that Shahid Lund was a wanted fugitive who was charged with over 28 severe criminal offenses, including the assassination of police officers, terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, attacks on law enforcement, and numerous dacoities. Numerous cases were registered against him in Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur, as his illicit activities extended across multiple districts.
For two months, the police in Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur meticulously planned an operation that ultimately led to the demise of a notorious gang leader. Initially, it was reported that Lund was killed by his associate, Umar Lund, after a heated argument, with Umar and his companions opening fire on him. However, subsequent statements clarified that Shahid Lund was fatally shot by law enforcement during the operation.
This operation represents a significant achievement in the ongoing battle against criminal elements in Punjab’s riverine areas, showcasing the effectiveness of coordinated efforts among various police departments.
In a related development, another operation in the Katcha area conducted by Sindh Rangers and local police resulted in the death of a most-wanted criminal, with two others injured and six suspects apprehended.
