Youtube has been under questions for providing questionable content for its Youtube Kids platform, and now it seems like the most popular vlog sharing site is going to face more tough time. The autocomplete search result feature of Youtube has been suggesting disturbing search terms to users.
Yesterday, many of the Youtube’s users reported on Twitter that when they search by typing “how to have” in Youtube’s search bars, the autocomplete results are quite disturbing. The search results include “how to have s*x with your kids” and “how to have s*x kids”.
Google-owned Youtube has immediately resolved the issue and has started investigations on the matter. Google has given immediate response on the issue in following words,
“Earlier today our teams were alerted to this profoundly disturbing autocomplete result and we worked to quickly remove it as soon as we were made aware. We are investigating this matter to determine what was behind the appearance of this autocompletion.”
YouTube has been heavily criticised over recent days after it emerged that pedophiles are posting inappropriate content and comments on the site and evading protection mechanisms.
Alongside enabling users to watch videos within Whatsapp, Youtube is also working on removing ads from inappropriate videos targeting families, block inappropriate comments on videos featuring minors. Youtube is also focused on providing guidance for creators who make family-friendly content and get advice from experts.
