YouTube has finally added the thumbnail previews on its desktop website. The new feature is a great way to see the preview before you play the video. YouTube tested this feature with a limited number of people earlier and now it is available for all users.
When you hover your cursor on any video thumbnail, it will show you a 3-second preview of the video. The preview is chosen by YouTube from the first half of the video and the creator has no control over which preview to be shown to users.
The feature is available only on Chrome and Opera browsers for now. So if you are a Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge user, you are out of luck. You’ll need to have Chrome 32+ or Opera 19+ to access this feature. Moreover, the feature is only available on desktop computers and there are no words on when it will be available for mobile users as well.
Google is constantly working on improving the YouTube and this feature will definitely make the viewing experience better for users. It will help users identify the type of content they are about to see in the new video.
Moreover, at the start of this year, YouTube introduced a new design which can be experimented at the new YouTube page.
And recently, a teenager accidentally kills her boyfriend while making a YouTube video.
