Less time has passed since Instagram has updated its platform, allowing users across the globe to reply to Instagram Stories with photos and videos. The company has been in action for the past couple of months, introducing new updates to users globally. This time too, the company has been reportedly testing its new feature which will enable the users to go live with a friend. According to Instagram, it has decided to launch this new feature in next few months.
Last November, Instagram rolled out its live video feature, allowing one to go Live on Instagram and after getting positive feedback from users a new feature, going Live with a friend, will be infused in the Live video feature. As of now, the company has allowed some community members to check and test the feature and give the feedback or suggestion on how to improve the feature.
The company said in a blog post,
“Live video helps you share in an authentic way, but sometimes it can be intimidating when you’re on your own. It’s easy to add a guest while you’re broadcasting. Simply tap the new icon on the bottom right and tap “Add” to invite anyone who’s currently watching. Once they join, you’ll see the screen split into two and your friend pop up right below you. Your viewers can still like and comment as they follow along.”
The new feature also allows users to remove the guest or friend at any time as well as replace him/her. Moreover, the friend can also choose to exit the live session on his own at any given time. You can also share your video after the live session has ended. Furthermore, the company said, “After you choose the “Discard” option the live video session will disappear from the app as usual.”
