You can now reach Sindh Rangers via a WhatsApp Hotline

Sindh Rangers are keeping up with the changing times. In their recent effort to facilitate the people of Sindh, a WhatsApp Hotline has been launched to help them instantly get support. This news comes a week after the Islamabad Police announced that they would be using WhatsApp for all official communications.

Sindh’s paramilitary law enforcement agency already has a phone helpline, but a WhatsApp Hotline (+92 316 2369996 ) could prove to be more useful in Sindh’s highly dubious security situation. WhatsApp would allow people to, not only, send text messages but also images, videos, audios, locations, and documents. This could prove more beneficial and allow citizens to play their part in bringing criminals to justice in the province. WhatsApp Hotline is not an entirely new concept. Police departments in India have already put it to use and the criminal complaint rate has gone up considerably.

Along with a new Hotline, Sindh Rangers have introduced a new email address (rangers.madadgar@gmail.com). This will also be used to make themselves more approachable to citizens.

In recent years, Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies have expressed their deep interest in adopting technology for the greater good. The Punjab Police has been noticeably prompt. Lahore Police started using specially-designed apps in collaboration with PITB.
