You can download Google Allo on Android right now through APK

Google is in the process of rolling out its recently revealed chatting application for Android, Allo, on the Google Play Store. You can check out its various features here.

However, if you can’t wait for the release on the Play Store, read on to find out how you can install it via its apk file right away.

Since there are different apk files for different devices, there are a couple of things to do before downloading them. Also, note that the app’s apk is available for Android versions 4.1 and up.

  1. Firstly, find out what is your device’s CPU architecture and its display density in dpi. To do this, install the application Droid Hardware Info. When the hardware info app is installed and opened, check the “Software Density” in the Device window’s Display tab. Also check the CPU Architecture and/or Instruction set in the System window of the application to determine the CPU architecture. For reference, ARMv7 and armeabi mean ARM, while AArch64 and arm64 mean the ARM64 architecture.
  2. Next, you have to enable the installation of applications on your phone from apk files (if not done already).

To do this, go to your Android device’s settings and open “Security”. Within the Security tab, you’ll find an option named “Unknown Sources”, enable this option.
  3. To download the apk for Google Allo, visit this Allo APKMirror link. Having already found the display’s software density in dpi and the architecture in step 1, click on the relevant link in the “Download” section of the page and download the apk file.
  4. Finally, open the downloaded apk file on your phone and it will automatically install Google Allo, asking for permissions along the way.Since Allo is tied to your phone number (just like Whatsapp), there will be verification of your phone number via a text message, the first time you use the app.
