Xiaomi’s “BlackShark” could be the fastest gaming smartphone

We are entering an era where gaming smartphones are going to take their fair share. The latest of which is Razer’s gaming-centric smartphone, which has an 8GB of RAM. As the smartphone is getting popular in China, a local big smartphone player in China namely Xiaomi seems to be worried about it. Now it appears that the Chinese manufacturer is working to find an answer to Razer.

As of now, a mysterious new smartphone has surfaced on benchmarking site AnTuTu that seems to support flagship specifications in accordance with 2018 standards, as first cited by Weibo. The smartphone’s codename is mentioned as “Blackshark”, the smartphone could most definitely be the first one from Xiaomi’s gaming sub-brand that goes by the same “moniker”.

Interestingly, the smartphone seems to have scored an impressive 270,680 on the benchmark, compared to the alleged 265,267 score recorded for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9+, which is likely featuring Snapdragon 845 chipset for some variants. Likewise, the number is 100,000 more than what the Razer Phone achieved on the same Benchmark. This makes “Blackshark” a proposes smartphone to be fastest until now.

As far as the leak goes, this upcoming smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 32GB inbuilt storage. The phone is expected to feature a full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and run MIUI on top of Android 8.0.0 out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi has also launched Black Shark, a daughter company that focuses on mobile gaming, so this hints that we will see a gaming smartphone by the company sooner or later.
