As one of the premier smartphone manufacturers in the world, Xiaomi has carved a reputation for rolling out excellent mid-range handsets. With the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro already picking up steam elsewhere in the world, the Chinese company has officially launched these devices in Pakistan at a glitzy ceremony in Lahore.
The standout feature of the Redmi Note 8 is its 48MP ultra high-resolution quad camera setup at the rear, which cements it as a marvelous device in terms of smartphone photography. Additionally, the device hosts an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor, as well as a 13MP front-shooter featuring in-built AI to enable users to take better selfies. In a first for the Redmi series, the Note 8 front camera also possesses a panorama selfie feature which is ideal for group photos.
As far as the display is concerned, the Note 8 presents an alluring 6.3-inch Dot Drop Display with a curved glass design and an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90%. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset and runs on a massive 4,000 mAh battery with 18W charging capability over USB Type-C.
Available in Space Black, Neptune Black, and Moonlight White, the Note 8 will be available in 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB variants starting at Rs. 29,999. While it is already available online at daraz.pk and mistore.pk, users will be able to purchase it at Mi exclusive stores as well starting from today.
Meanwhile, the Note 8 Pro promises to bring even more to the table, as it hosts the company’s first ever 64MP camera. With ultra-high resolution and a quad camera setup at the back, the Note 8 Pro is likely to make a bang in the photography department. The device also features an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera and an impressive 20MP selfie camera with built-in AI for scene detection and face unlock.
