Xiaomi the Chinese tech brand is aiming to target young people with its upcoming Mi CC series, going to launch next month in July. The change in the target customers is due to the fact that Xiaomi is struggling to sell its smartphones in the market, therefore with the upcoming CC series they aim to launch trendy mobile devices for the young generation in the world, reports Engadget.
CC stands for Camera+Camera, which suggests that the upcoming series would have a dual camera setup. Which in turn reveals the Xiaomi’s plan to attract youngsters by enhancing the photo-taking abilities of their future smart devices. Xiaomi has not revealed the specifications of the CC phones, but it is expected that they will feature front and back cameras, plus the addition of an “industry-leading algorithm empowered by the newly founded Xiaomi x Meitu AI Beauty Lab”.
To achieve this target, Xiaomi has employed a team of young resources, half of them includes art majors. This move by Xiaomi is unusual in an industry which is dominated by STEM graduates. This also shows the companies focus on achieving their target.
It is expected that Xiaomi will launch CC9 smartphone as the first ever device under CC series, and according to the specs revealed by the Chinese tech company on Weibo, the CC9 will have a 32MP selfie camera with enhanced Beauty mode.
Other smartphones which come under the Mi-series of Xiaomi include an affordable flagship Mi 9, and a sliding Mi Mix 3 smartphone. Xiaomi has also received much criticism about the confusing names of their product, to which CEO Lei Jun has said that this new launch will have a different clear name as compared to the brand’s various product lines.
