Xiaomi Patents A Foldable Smartphone With A Unique Wraparound Display

With foldable technology becoming the next big thing in the world of smartphones, Xiaomi is experimenting a next-level foldable phone after the Mi Mix Fold. However, what makes it different from previous foldable phones is the new wraparound display which has been patented by the company.

This patent was leaked by ‘LetsGoDigital’ in the form of images. According to the images the phone resembles the Huawei Mate X but this phone is a single screen that goes around the whole device. The thicker side of the phone bears the phone’s cameras and a button to open the device.

Moreover, this unique design allows users to use the main camera as a selfie camera as well. According to CEO Lei Jun, the wraparound display is a challenge that just goes to show how complex the making of the phone was and how it almost never came into being.

All in all, this is merely the patent of the device hence changes may occur to the device.
