Xiaomi Mi 9 and and Mi Mix 4 will come with a tripple-rear camera and Snapdragon 855 chipset

Smartphone manufacturers nowadays have made it mandatory to include a triple-rear or a dual-camera set-up in their Flagship smartphones, barring Google who still uses its superior computational photography to compensate the lack of cameras its phone uses. According to a report from iThome, Xiomi’s Mi 9 will be Xiomi’s first product to feature a triple camera while the Mi Mix 4 is expected to feature a periscope camera.

The leaks further revealed that both of these smartphones will feature a Snapdragon 855 chip, this chip is currently Qualcomm’s flagship chip and will also come with 5G support. Furthermore, Mi 9 will come with an OLED display with 6 or 6.4-inch display size.

The year of 2019 will be the year for Android smartphones with 5G support. Xiaomi recently conducted a successful 5G test on a special edition of Mi Mix 3 unit and previous reports also suggested that Xiaomi may be working on a special edition of Mi Mix 3 and could start the next year with the release of a Snapdragon 855 SoC powered Mi Mix 3 with 5G support.

Xiaomi had a good 2018 with its flagship sale where it received an overwhelming response for its Mi 8. According to Xiaomi, their Mi 8 sold 6 million units in 2018. If these statistics are any indication then it seems that Xiaomi will try to increase its market share in the Asian region, specifically India and China in 2019 with its high-end and low budget phones.

It should be noted that Xiaomi’s Pocphone F1 in 2018 met an overwhelmingly positive response from India and the rest of the world since the phone was equipped with a flagship chipset, Snapdragon 845 while only costing $300 USD. If Xiaomi continues with its policy of releasing Flagship phones at a budget price then it may very well become a global brand to be reckoned with. Let’s see how 2019 responds to their new flagships.
