Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturer is gearing up to launch Xiaomi Mi 6X, which is the successor of Mi 5X. The international variant of the same could be named Mi A2 — the successor of the Mi A1 Android One smartphone. The phone has been subject to several leaks, including specs, renders, etc.
While previously Mi 6X was rumored to be powered by MediaTek’s new Helio P60 chipset, a new report claims that the phone will not be powered by the Helio P60 processor. Recently, the Mi 6X appeared in a TENAA listing, which revealed that the phone will be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor. Our guess is that it will pack the Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 as they are both clocked at 2.2GHz.
Moving on to the camera setup of the Xiaomi Mi 6X / Mi A2. The rear camera on the back will be upgraded compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The main shooter of the rear dual camera is still an IMX 486 (12 MP, 1.25 µm), but it’s paired with a higher resolution IMX 376 (20 MP, 1.0 µm) secondary sensor. The selfie camera will use another IMX 376.
The phone will likely have a 5.99” display with a 2160 x 1080 resolution. This translates into an 18:9 aspect ratio, so thankfully there is no notch.
Xiaomi’s upcoming phone is most likely to be running Android Oreo and it will also be powered by a 2,910mAh battery. It may come in various color options, including Black, Rose Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray, and Silver. While the launch date is not yet known, we expect the device to be launched by the end of this month or early next month.
