Xiaomi is proving that its dominance doesn’t just lie on online campaigns, the company opened up more than 500 stores across India on 29th October to claim a Guinness world record and show that it is rapidly growing across the world. Just yesterday we reported that Xiaomi had acquired Meitu’s smartphone business as well as a staggering 49% growth in quarterly financials.
For comparison’s sake, Apple has around 198 stores across the U.S whereas Xiaomi has plans to open more than 5000 stores by the end of 2019 and create more than 15000 jobs. These are some incredibly ambitious plans considering offline expansion especially into rural areas can be extremely challenging. We also have to take into account areas which may not have connectivity. However, Xiaomi India’s Director of Marketing Manu Kumar Jain is hopeful that the company will succeed in meeting the above-mentioned goals.
Aside from Xiaomi, OnePlus is also launching stores across various locations but not as eagerly. Realme is also exploring this segment to see if it will increase their mobile devices sales or not.
