World’s first blockchain smartphone with flagship specs will cost you $999

The specifications of first of its kind blockchain smartphone, called Finney by Sirin’s Labs have been officially revealed by the company. Sirin Lab, the company behind the phone, which raised $110 million in ICO previously, has announced that this blockchain smartphone will pack some flagship-level specs when it launches later this year.

Most notably, this blockchain phone will be indeed a ‘cold storage wallet’ for your crypto. As the phone will be enabled with blockchain technology, hence it is said to be immune to hacking, and thus provides a safer backdrop for keeping track of financial transactions.

As far as specs of the phone are concerned, we can say it will be a true flagship device in a way. The Finney will pack a Snapdragon 845 paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. On the imaging front, the phone will pack a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 lens with laser autofocus, while up front you’ll find an 8-megapixel, f/2.2 snapper with an 85-degree angle. The device packs a 6-inch, 18:9 display with a pixel density of 402PPI. The phone packs a 3,280mAh battery.

The phone will run on Sirin OS platform, but the latest specs also show a phone running “Google-certified” Android 8.1. The major selling point for the Sirin OS platform is the preinstalled wallet for cryptocurrency transactions.

This is not the first phone by the company, previously Sirin has touted Solarin handset that positioned itself as a $16,000, ultra-secure Android phone. However, the upcoming Finney will offer blockchain-enabled services for secure exchange access, encrypted communications and more.

Speaking of a purchase, the company is selling the phone for $999. It’s unclear whether users can pay cash, as you’re required to pre-order the device with so-called SRN tokens. And here’s catch if you will preorder the phone, you will get a 10% discount.
