LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department has issued a revised schedule for winter vacations in schools across the province.
According to the updated notification, winter holidays will now begin on December 23, 2024, instead of the previously planned date of December 20, 2024. The break will last until January 10, 2025, and applies to both public and private schools.
With this new schedule, both students and teachers will have a balanced period of rest. Schools will reopen on January 13, 2025, following the inclusion of an additional holiday on January 11.
Originally, the provincial government had announced a 22-day winter vacation from December 20 to January 10. However, the revised timeline ensures schools remain closed during the peak winter period for everyone’s convenience.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government has taken steps to support parents and students during the colder months. Under the guidance of Sindh’s Education Minister, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Directorate of Private Institutions has relaxed the winter uniform policy. Students can now wear attire of their choice to stay comfortable in the chilly weather.
These initiatives aim to address the seasonal challenges faced by students and ensure a smooth and accommodating winter break for all.
