A new WhatsApp update may even let you unsend a sent message, pin chats

WhatsApp is making an important update to the application adding several new functionalities including that to unsend/edit a sent message, pin a chat/sender option, reply to status option and live location sharing.

Introduced as Beta options, these new features are available only to limited users as of now. The Pin option can be used to affix important chats to the top in order to let you not to worry about missing any important messages. As much as three chats can be ‘pinned’ to the top that will keep appearing there until you unpin them.

Reportedly, the other features being tested include the option to unsend a message, live location sharing and the option to send multiple contacts all at once. The Unsend and Edit options will enable the users to change the content of sent messages until the recipient hasn’t read them. A new option to let users reply to one’s Status is also going to be added to the application.

It would be worth mentioning that the feature is currently in its Beta phases and can be available to limited users only. Provided the Beta run turns out to be a success, WhatsApp will roll out the said feature for all the users through the Application Stores. Currently, the options are only available with WhatsApp beta 2.17.162 and 2.17.163 versions.

Quite recently, we have been seeing different new updates making it to the platform. One rather important was the improved integration of Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri, with the applications API. The update which was intended actually for the iOS users enabled Siri to read out the WhatsApp texts out aloud alongwith the ability to send messages.
