It seems that Mark Zuckerberg has emerged unscathed from the five-hour gruelling hearing session before the Congress, answering questions of US Senators. However, it not yet done for the CEO of the biggest social network, Facebook. He will be reappearing before Congress this time to testify in front of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
The second hearing will continue to build on the questions pertaining to the Cambridge Analytica scandal and Russian interference in the US elections of 2016. The congressional hearing will begin 10:00 AM ET, which makes it 7:00 PM for Pakistan, today. As reported by TechCrunch, the proceedings of the hearing will be streamed live on the YouTube channel of House Energy and Commerce Committee and can be watched here.
Before the testimony, it was reported that Facebook employees had made hefty donations to various Congress members for their political campaigns. In the previous hearing session, a majority of the US senators did not have technology literacy and therefore have received criticism for not asking the right questions and not grilling the CEO enough for the scale of data violation that occurred on his platform. It is now to see if Mark Zuckerberg will be able to maintain his composure in the second hearing or give away more than the overly repeated viewpoints of his company.
