China-based smartphone company Vivo has released the latest Funtouch OS 15, which is based on the Android 15 operating system, in the global market. This new update from Vivo is now available on a few Vivo and iQOO devices. Vivo released its latest Android 15 version before Google and Samsung devices enabling its users to try all the novelties before others.

Funtouch OS 15 brings a series of major updates that improve the phone’s operation and the user interface. One of the enhancements includes the change of the scheduling mechanism from the default ‘Fair Scheduling’ of Android to ‘Priority Scheduling’. This adjustment preempts computing power and is said to have increased the average speed of app opening by up to 15%.
The new OS also comes with Memory Enhancement Technology that helps decrease graphics processing unit (GPU) memory for background applications thereby improving multitasking.
In addition to these performance enhancements, Vivo has overhauled more than 3,800 system components: system colors, icons, fonts, and illustrations. Currently, users can select from 9 system themes with features for static, immersive, and video wallpapers.
Further, Funtouch OS 15 includes a new fingerprint recognition animation, a resizable app icon, and new big app icons for managing multiple apps. Aside from the looks, the new OS is quicker and lighter and it boots 20% faster app startup response, an average of 15% faster under load. It also has 40% better memory compression efficiency.

How to install FunTouch OS 15:
- In your Vivo or iQOO device, go to the Settings app.
- Tap on the System Update option and the smartphone will automatically check for updates.
- Check if the FunTouchOS 15 update is available.
- If the newly launched software update is available, tap on the Download icon.
- After the downloading is done, install to initiate the update process and follow any on-screen instructions.
- Once the installation process is complete, the smartphone may reboot.
