Virtual University signs MoU with NED University to promote e-learning and technology entrepreneurship in the region

Virtual University signs an MoU with NED University’s Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) to collaborate in the initiatives of research, education and innovation. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Masroor Elahi Babar, Registrar of Virtual University of Pakistan and Dr. Syed Mehmood Hasan, Director ORIC-NEDUET.

The collaboration is set to establish a strong liaison between the two institutions to promote entrepreneurship and education. Virtual University will be providing support in terms of establishing the infrastructure of e-learning, while NED University will provide assistance in the areas of technical entrepreneurship and engineering.

Higher Education Commission (HEC) has established ORIC Offices in various universities across Pakistan. These offices aim at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, whilst working towards commercializing academic research. ORIC Office at NED University was established in 2014, and since then it has been supporting various research and entrepreneurial activities for students and faculty alike.

ORIC-NEDUET has launched 3D Printing Facility Lab under MakerStudio, inspired from MIT’s Fab Lab to introduce multidisciplinary learning at the campus. The Office is all set to inaugurate NED University’s business incubation center, CINETIC in the coming weeks as well.
