Ever since Uber launched in Pakistan, it has been working hard to strengthen its footing in this emerging market. It has already introduced several offers to win customers like free rides and reduced pricing. Despite all these efforts, Uber initially forgot to enable an important feature for Users in Pakistan — scheduled rides. Now it seems that Uber is ready to provide this service to Users in Lahore.
Upon launching the app, a popup message now informs users that scheduled rides are launching soon in Lahore. It also gives a little overview of scheduled rides and provides a link to a detailed article about it.
This is what Uber has to say about scheduled rides on its official website:
“We get it. Sometimes you want to schedule a pickup in advance so you can rest assured an Uber will be available when you need it, especially if it’s for a 4am ride to the airport. With Scheduled Rides you can request your Uber 30 days to 15 minutes ahead of time and have the comfort of knowing your Uber will be there when it’s time to head out.”
Scheduling rides on Uber works in 4 simple steps:
Uber is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that every local resident prefers it over competitors for their mode of transportation. However, Uber should also work on ensuring the security of its customers as some incidents of harassment related to Uber drivers have left the users concerned about their well-being and privacy.
