Uber Eats set to launch its services in Pakistan

Uber Eats, the food delivery service by the popular ride-sharing platform, is planning to launch in Pakistan next year.

According to ProPakistani, an anonymous source has confirmed that Uber Eats is looking towards mid-February for a launch date in Pakistan. It will offer similar rates to other food delivery services currently operational locally, however, there will be a surge pricing model to account for increased demand and a shortage of riders.

Reportedly, Uber Eats is also considering using electric bikes for its riders to reduce overall cost, but that decision hasn’t been finalized as of yet and it might never come to fruition.

Uber Eats is a separate app from the traditional Uber app currently available and functional in Pakistan. Somewhat similar to Foodpanda, it allows users to browse through restaurants and order foods without ever leaving the comfort of their house or office.

The app is uber popular (pun intended) in countries where it is currently operational and it is expected to give a strong competition to food delivery services currently working in Pakistan.
