This competition was started in 2014 and is happening for the first time in Pakistan with the help of its strategic partner Stimulus. The training session will include a total of 25 teams from across Pakistan, including teams from Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan, Sahiwal, Mardan, Swabi and Gilgit.

The competition originally received a total of 100 applications from all across Pakistan presenting their ideas and solutions to tackle the challenges faced in agriculture, healthcare, energy efficiency, water, and waste management. Out of those 100 applications the competition has selected 25 of the best ideas who would be going through two-day training sessions. These sessions will include six coaching sessions and then they will compete locally.
After the competition, only two teams would represent Pakistan internationally at the Global Competition which will be held in November and compete against 49 other countries.
With the climate change problem, Pakistan is facing it is necessary for the government to engage and help students develop ideas that can help the country to tackle this challenge in a better way. Moreover, competitions like ClimateLaunchpad and others working internationally should be encouraged to come and arrange their competitions in Pakistan as well.
