This gadget beats iPhone X to take TIME’s gadget of the year 2017 award

Each year, Time Magazine publishes a list of top 10 gadgets and its time for the TIME’s top 10 gadgets of 2017. 2 of the Apple’s devices have made their support in the latest list but none of them could reach the top spot. A lot of people were expecting that iPhone X will make the top spot this year but that’s not the case.

So if the iPhone X is not at the top, then what is? Well, you might have guessed it, it’s Nintendo Switch. It is the latest hybrid console manufactured by Nintendo. It was unveiled to the public in March this year loved by thousands of people. It can be connected to the television by using a docking station and can also be used as a handheld console by connecting the Joy-Con wireless controllers on both sides of it. There are a lot of games available in the Switch already and some popular old games are being ported to the console as well. Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire is one of the biggest and most popular games that are recently ported to the Nintendo Switch.

iPhone X took the second place on the list and according to TIME, “the iPhone X’s edge-to-edge screen and facial recognition system will undoubtedly set a new standard for phones to come.” Microsoft Surface Laptop took the third spot on the list for its “light and elegant design, sharp screen, and long-lasting battery.” The magazine says that it is a solid choice for the people who are seeking a new Windows computer. The Surface Laptop comes with Windows 10 S out of the box. Windows 10 S is a trimmed down version of Windows 10 Pro and it can only run apps from Microsoft Store. You can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free for a limited period of time.

TIME put the new mini-drone, the DJI Spark, at 4th place on its list. It is one of my favorite products on this list. DJI Spark can take off from the palm of your hand and is one of the most stable mini-drones. You can easily cover important events with the help of this drone. Samsung Galaxy S8 took the 5th place because its “exquisitely curved display certainly made it the among most attractive phones of the year.”

Microsoft’s new console, the Xbox One X also made it to the top 10 list for being the “choice console for players who want screaming performance for less than the price of a high-end gaming PC.” Surprisingly, another Apple product, the Apple Watch 3 also made it to the list because it gives you “the freedom to leave your phone at home when you step out to walk the dog or go on a run may be just enough to persuade smartwatch skeptics that the Apple Watch is worth considering, especially for athletic types.”

Other products that made it to the TIME’s top 10 gadgets list of 2017 include the Sony Alpha A7R III camera, Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Classic, and Amazon Echo (second generation). Which product is your favorite among all of the products on the list?
