Youngest Microsoft Certified Professional of her time, Arfa Karim Randhawa died on January 14th, 2012. Arfa was born in Faisalabad and at a young age of 9 years she managed to attain Microsoft Certificate for Information Technology Professional. She also had the privilege to meet Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, and visit the company’s headquarters.
Following the footsteps of Arfa, Pakistan has seen many young children passing Microsoft Certificate tests. It seems that Pakistani children have a special liking for Microsoft certificates. We have covered Muhammad Humza, who at a tender age of 6 passed Microsoft Office test then there is Ayan Qureshi who became Microsoft Certified Professional at the age of only 5. These are two of the many talented children who have cleared for certification in the past.
In Lahore, Arfa Software Technology Park named after Arfa Karim has become the center point for every entrepreneurial activity in the city. Arfa Software Technology Park houses an incubator, an accelerator, a coworking space, a university and numerous startups and established tech businesses who are improving the economic state of the country.
