Tiny EV Hits 62MPH (100 km/h) In 1.461 Seconds, Sets New World Record

The tiny quickest-accelerating EV sets a new world by completing race in less than two seconds. When discussing the EVs with the quickest acceleration, the Rimac Nevera and Tesla Model S Plaid come to mind, as both can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than two seconds.

A single-handedly EV weighs only 173 kilograms (381 pounds), thanks to its delicate design and carbon fiber construction. The show can be even more exciting, once you take the license plate out of the occasion and think about the cars as track machines.

The 20-student Green Team from the University of Stuttgart created the E0711-11 EVO. A pocket rocket with independent suspension and carbon wheels with a slightly uninspiring name E0711-11 EVO. When we talk about any electric vehicle its technical specifications matter a lot. Its four-wheel hub motor produces a combined 180 kilowatts which is equivalent to 241 horsepower. A small electric vehicle with an all-wheel drive and a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic monocoque is powered by an air-cooled battery pack with a capacity of 7.67 kWh. The tiny EV is super fast that it broke the previous records of all the fastest-accelerating electric vehicles. Hence, the “Mission World Record” by the Förderverein GreenTeam Uni Stuttgart e.V has ended successfully.

The Tiny Fastest EV

On 6 October, the neck-snapping acceleration was confirmed by the Guinness World Record representatives. The representatives were present at the Bosch facility in Renningen, in the Baden-Württemberg district of Böblingen. Surprisingly, it was amazing to achieve 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 1.461 seconds.

Although, it was bit challenging to capture a video of the fastest vehicle as it was a game of few eye blinks. Due to this reason, the video is not particularly exciting. The E0711-11 EVO is significantly faster than a Formula E race car. Which needs about 2.8 seconds to accelerate from a stop to 62 mph (100 km/h), to put the sprint time into perspective.

What could be more exciting and faster in terms of 0-62 mph acceleration? The only possible answer we could ever think of is an electric dragster. Previously, in March 2022, the “Faster Than Cancer” electric dragster racing team from SeaTac completed the quarter mile. Undoubtedly, it was a remarkable performance of completing a trap speed of 202.5 mph (325.89 km/h) in just 7.48 seconds. However, that was the shortest electric vehicle drag race in the world.
