Three New Honda Models Set to Debut by 2026

Honda has unveiled the third generation of its Amaze compact sedan in India, signaling the brand’s ambitious expansion strategy. By the fiscal year 2026-2027, the automaker plans to introduce three new models, emphasizing electric and strong hybrid powertrains under its e:HEV technology, along with a new Honda electric badge.

Takuya Tsumura, President and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Cars India, articulated the company’s vision for the future, underscoring its dedication to both traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electrified powertrains.

He stated that Honda Cars India is actively engaged in addressing the changing requirements of Indian consumers while maintaining its commitment to conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The emphasis is now transitioning towards hybrid and wholly electric vehicles to align with prevailing market trends. The specifics regarding these three new models will be disclosed as the plan advances.

At present, Honda’s lineup in India comprises three models: two sedans and one sport utility vehicle (SUV). Among the offerings, the Honda City features a robust hybrid powertrain; however, it has not achieved the anticipated success levels set by the brand. With the launch of the new models, Honda seeks to effect a substantial transformation within its product lineup.

Speculations indicate that one of the forthcoming electric models may be derived from the Honda Elevate, an SUV presently offered in the Indian market. This initiative arises as automobile manufacturers in India progressively enhance their involvement in the burgeoning electric vehicle sector.

Brands such as Tata Motors, MG Motor, and Mahindra have already established a significant presence in this sector, while Toyota, Maruti Suzuki, and Hyundai are also poised to introduce new electric vehicle offerings. The upcoming models from Honda are anticipated to enhance.
