A US-based company has resorted to installing small-sized electronic chips on their employees which would let them perform certain tasks automatically in a secure way like for example logging into the office ware computers etc.
The employees of this company are being offered an option to volunteer for a program in which small micro-sized chips would be surgically implanted in their bodies. After the installation and activation of the chips, the employees would be able to open the office doors and use the office equipment. Moreover, the employees would also save the hassle of looking for money for they would be able to conduct the transaction electronically just by placing their hand on a scanner.
After installation, the device will make use of its near field communication (NFC) technology in order to perform these tasks. This is the same technology that is being used in today’s flagship smartphones to conduct electronic transactions.

Three Square Market or 32Market is a Wisconsin-based company that is providing technology solutions for micro markets and break rooms found in large office complexes. Quite sure over the future of these implants, the Chief Executive Officer Three Square Market, Todd Westby said, “It’s the next thing that’s inevitably going to happen, and we want to be a part of it”.
The microchip will just have a size equal to that of a single grain of rice and the company would be installing more than 50 such chips on its employees starting next week. These chips are being inserted between an employee’s thumb and forefinger.
These implants cost USD 300 per device and the Three Square Market is looking to market this product. It is closely working with BioHax International, a Swedish firm, to make these chips.
