Nacho Notch is the Android App that will remove the ugly notch of your phone

Since the start of 2018, all the smartphones coming-up whether they are flagships or mid-rangers, seem to adopt the concept of iPhone X’s notch. Smartphone manufacturers are now including the notch, but, interestingly, people haven’t embraced the idea, especially some Android users. Keeping the users sentiment in mind, this application, Nacho Notch, is here to rescue you from that miserable sight, it will hide the notch in a simple way by using a black background on the top portion of your screen.

The app is developed by XDA Forum Moderator Zacharee1 and the purpose of the application is quite simple which is to hide the display notch. The working of the application is straightforward, it draws an entirely black screen on top of status bar. This turns the status bar black thereby making the background black making notifications and icons more visible e.g clock, application icons, date, alarm icon etc. The overlay hides when you switch your phone to the landscape mode, so you don’t have to worry that it will cover up part of the status bar accidentally.

Unfortunately, due to iOS’s limitations, the app is not available for iPhone X. But Android users can enjoy it owing to the open nature of the operating system. On Android, Nacho Notch can work on pretty much any smartphone with a notch. The application is free, you can download and use it without any intrusive ads.

Smartphones like LG G7, Oppo F7, Huawei P20 series, OnePlus 6 etc, are all either rumored or are confirmed to have notches. So this application is quite handy for the people who own a cell phone which has a notch. You can download the app from this link.
