This $430 gaming phone offers “liquid cooling” system and 48MP camera

With the recent boom in the smartphone gaming industry and many addictive games like PUBG attaining an overwhelming number of users across the world, phone makers have started developing more innovative phones each year.

In a new development, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia has announced its latest mobile gaming device called the Red Magic 3. The phone packs a bunch of cool specs and features including the flagship chipset with up to 12 GB RAM, built-in “liquid cooling” fan, a huge battery, and 8K video recording.

Exploring details about the phone, you will get an impressive set of features. Nubia Red Magic 3 offers a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with a 240 Hz touch refresh rate. There are speakers on both sides for stereo sound, and the phone comes with 4D customize-able vibrations.

The special gaming abilities of this magical phone include a second-generation “liquid cooling” setup and a built-in fan (as the company claims itself the first to do so) that decreases the phone’s temperature with 16 degrees Celsius. This small fan runs quietly but can spin up to 14,000 rpm. According to the Nubia, the cooling effects can provide up to 500% heat reduction and covers 32,000 sq.mm, which should be enough to keep the phone running even in the wildest use. However, the cooling system for faster processing has been previously associated with Razer, Tecno, and Xiaomi’s Black Shark too.

The focal point of the device is its 8K video recording feature and up to 1920 fps video shooting which seems like the upscaling of the 960 fps slow-mo feature we’ve seen in other flagships. But all those camera enhancements may not attract the company’s target market because gamers don’t need fancy bokeh effects. The primary sensor on the rear is the 48 MP IMX586, sitting behind an f/1.7 lens. The phone also boasts a 16-megapixel f/2.0 front camera but with an unknown sensor.

The Red Magic 3 is powered by a Snapdragon 855 CPU along with an Adreno 640 GPU. The phone will also come in three different storage and memory options. The most expensive one will boast 256GB of storage and a whopping 12GB of RAM. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery featuring 27W quick charging.

The Red Magic 3 will initially launch in China on May 3 and afterward in the U.S and other European markets. The price starts at around $430 for the 6GB RAM model with 64GB of storage. Whereas, the maxed out variant, with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, will cost around $640.
