The near-final version of Android O has now been released by Google

Google has finally released the fourth and concluding Beta version for its upcoming Android software, Android O.

The release of the final Beta version of Google’s mobile operating system also hints that the software is in its final shape and will be released to the public very soon. Google already had said that the software would make its way to the users later this summer, most probably within the next month. As far as changes and improvements over the last release are concerned , the fourth iteration of the software didn’t come with significant alterations.

“This is the final preview before we launch the official Android O platform to consumers later this summer. Take this opportunity to wrap up your testing and publish your updates soon, to give users a smooth transition to Android O,” Google said in a release.

The fourth Developer’s preview of an Android software usually rolls out just before the final release of the software. The preview is named as release candidate build and is mostly about some minor incremental changes over the third developer’s preview. In features, it mostly caters to stabilizing the third release. This year too, the third build of the software, although introduced some new features, had some problems with running applications. This update has worked to improve that.

The Android O update over its preceding version Android Nougat is mostly about optimizing the working of a smartphone. The software would come with many improvements including the much-needed battery and connectivity optimizations. Then there is also a Picture in Picture feature and better support for notifications. You can check out our coverage on the upcoming Android O to know about its features in detail.

If you are currently enrolled in the Google’s Beta testing program on a supported device(Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Google Pixel), you will be able to get your hands on this update within a few days. The public release of the final software will also most likely start to roll out from these devices.
