Women Can Do (WCD) is having first-ever Emerging Women Entrepreneurs’ Week (EWEW) to be held from 6th August 2018 to 10th August 2018 at National Incubation Centre (NIC) Islamabad by Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA).
The program aims to bring 50 selected women leaders i.e 10 from each province from public women universities and seminaries to Islamabad where they would be mentored at NIC for one week of advanced incubation.
WCD-II is now entering its final phase where it will host the 50 selected women-led startups from Public women universities and Madrasahs from all across Pakistan first time in the history of Pakistan. These startups vary in nature starting from textile to social entrepreneurial ideas and technology. WCD team has planned an Emerging Women Entrepreneurs’ Week (EWEW) which is an advanced incubation boot camp for these aspiring female entrepreneurs who have come this far rising beyond all socio-cultural barriers. EWEW will have mentoring sessions by working professionals, successful female entrepreneurs. Moreover, seed grants for top 10 startup ideas will be given by SFEA.
Ammara Kazi, Project Manager of WCD said, “We live in a world where the entrepreneurial attitude is so incredibly different than what a generation ago was taught to start a business.”
Syed Ali Hameed, Director of SFEA said, It means the power is shifting, in all the right directions, and in a pretty exciting way, I think it is on us, the women leaders in the world right now, and on male counterparts, to really inspire, educate, and lift up women through organizations so that we are in a world where having women on executive committees of companies and the CEOs of Fortune 500 companies is absolutely the norm.”
The project has a two-part strategy;
The project successfully reached out to 3000 students in Public Women universities and religious seminaries for females.
