Pakistan’s first telecom-accelerator, Telenor Velocity, has extended its deadline for its 2nd Cohort after receiving an overwhelming response from the startup community.
Telenor Velocity is Telenor’s very own attempt at accelerating startups in Pakistan. The accelerator started accepting applications for its 2nd Cohort (second batch) in June this year. Originally, the deadline date was pegged at 20th of July, 2016, but now, they have confirmed to TechJuice about extending the deadline date to the 30th of August.
“Due to extended Eid holidays, a lot of the aspiring startups were unable to meet Telenor Velocity’s application deadline for Cohort 2,” they said in a statement. “In the last few days, startup founders from all over the country have been reaching out to Telenor Velocity, requesting to extend the submission date.”
You can head over to their Application page to apply.
Note: As of now, the page says to “Hang on tight till you hear from us”. Hopefully, they will be updating the page soon with the instructions on the application procedure. We’ll update over here when they do.
Initially announced at the Open Islamabad event last year, it received a great response for its first batch (or 1st Cohort as they like to call it). It comprised of startups including doctHers, ForiMazdoori, Interacta, Edjunction and EcoEnergy Finance and is scheduled to conclude in September of this year.
