Telenor Pakistan announced today that Lene Gaathaug has been appointed the new Chief Human Resource Officer effective August 2017. As a Vice President, she will be part of the top management at the company, reporting to the CEO.
Welcoming Lene to Telenor Pakistan, CEO Irfan Wahab said, “We are excited to welcome Lene to Telenor Pakistan as our second female Vice President. Lene has been with a number of Telenor Business Units over a period of 16 years and we are confident that her experience will be an asset in further strengthening Telenor’s open culture and its reputation as the best employer brand in Pakistan, along with preparing the organization to become the favourite digital lifestyle partner of our valued customers,” he added.

Lene is a business-oriented Human Resource (HR) professional and comes to Telenor Pakistan with a robust over 20-year experience in HR and legal functions. She joined Telenor in 2001 as Project Manager and moved to Telenor Broadcast Holdings AS where she served as HR Director for Technology and Information Security, and later for People and Organization. She was appointed HR Business Partner for Telenor Group in 2009 and took over the responsibilities of ‘Legal Advisor – Employer Role’ before joining Telenor GSS as VP and Head of HR in 2014. At Telenor GSS, Lene helped the organisation and management to run business and people processes in line with Telenor’s defined values and ‘way of work’. She was responsible for HR, Communication and Admin support.
Prior to joining Telenor, Lene served as Legal Advisor and HR Director for Oslo Council (Oslo Kommune), the Municipality of Oslo. She holds a legal professional degree (Cand. Jur) from The University of Oslo.
In her new role at Telenor Pakistan, Lene will drive the people policy and organizational culture, with Employer Branding, Rewards and Talent Acquisition falling under her domain.
