Telenor Microfinance Bank has successfully rebranded itself into easypaisa Digital Bank as the change came into effect on January 28, 2025.
“We are excited to announce that Telenor Microfinance Bank has undergone a transformation from a ‘Microfinance Bank’ to a ‘Digital Retail Bank,’ effective from January 28, 2025,” it said in a statement.
“We will now be operating under the registered name: ‘easypaisa Bank Limited, (formerly Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited), with a brand name ‘easypaisa digital bank.”
With this development, easypaisa has introduced an expanded range of products and services integrated into its platform, offering comprehensive digital banking solutions. The company will now operate under the Banking Companies Ordinance (BCO), 1962.
“This stable foundation, combined with our new banking framework, positions us strongly to expand our digital banking capabilities while maintaining regulatory compliance and strategic partnerships, with no change in our existing shareholding structure,” the statement added.
Under the Licensing and Regulatory Framework for Digital Banks, Easypaisa Digital Bank will offer an expanded range of services through its digital platforms. The comprehensive offerings include digital accounts, consumer lending solutions, and term deposit services, alongside the development of a broader product suite to enhance its digital banking capabilities.
“This transformation strengthens our ability to serve our valued stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and risk management. Our commitment to digital innovation and financial inclusion remains steadfast, supported by robust technological infrastructure and strategic partnerships.”
