Telenor hires its first Chief Digital Officer, Durdana Achkzai

Telenor Pakistan, one of Pakistan’s Mobile Telecommunication, Internet and Digital services provider, today has announced that Durdana Achkzai, a Fintech expert with ample experience and knowledge on the incorporation of IT in financial services, will be joining Telenor Pakistan as its first Chief Digital Officer.

Durdana will bring her expertise to make Telenor a holistic Digital Services Provider. She will have oversight and control into the newly formed ‘Digital Division’ at Telenor Pakistan. Her portfolio will encompass Telenor Pakistan’s Digital Products, Digital Accelerator (Velocity), Mobile Advertising, Mobile Agriculture, Internet of Things and Innovation.

Welcoming Durdana, the CEO Telenor Pakistan, Irfan Wahab Khan said, “As we embark on our journey to become the favorite digital lifestyle partner of our customers, Durdana will be the torchbearer of realizing one of our biggest ambitions yet. We warmly welcome Durdana to the Telenor family.”

Durdana is a senior business and technology leader focused on fintech and digital transformation based out of London. She comes with a robust work experience spread across multiple businesses functions over 14 years in global business and technology roles.

Durdana also has worked as a Global Head of Digital Portfolio & Programme Director at HSBC and also as Chief Operating Officer at Barclays Investment Bank. An alumnus of GIKI, Durdana did her MBA from the prestigious Harvard Business School.
