We are looking forward to some great startups from this batch and we have been keeping a close eye on them. Take a look at 10 Pakistani Startups to Watch Out For. As more people achieve success via Plan9, we look forward to a bright future of entrepreneurship in Pakistan.

Galaxy Note3 and Gear is here

This week, on 9th October, Samsung officially launched Note 3 and Galaxy Gear in Pakistan. If you were planning to get your hands on the device, you will have to wait no more: one of the most anticipated gadgets of the year is here.

Other news includes the Google Entrepreneurship Week which was a raging success and a reminder to all those interested that the Startup Weekend is moving to Peshawar.

Galaxy Round is here..

Sure, there wasn’t as much buzz when Galaxy Round came out as there was for Samsung Note 3, but this phone definitely deserves a slice of This Week on The AppJuice because the phone giants are trying something new. LG will be following with a curved phone soon.

The Galaxy Rounds packs impressive specs: there is the 5.7 inch and a 1080p screen.  What stands out is the display. Samsung promises that users will enjoy a better grip when holding the phone and can also view notifications by simply tilting the screen on a flat surface.  We are as yet unsure whether this feature will be really useful or popular with users. What do you think of it?

Nexus 5 is coming!

The Android fans are quietly counting down to the end of this month when Google is expected to launch the Nexus 5. There is a lot of excitement surrounding this particular phone because Nexus deices thus far have been great gadgets. A quick of summary of all the expected rumors that are circulating the web: there is Android 4.4 KitKat, 5 inch full HD 1080p display, a 2300mAh battery, 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera and all this will be supported by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800Chipset with 2GB of RAM. A diligent fan has even worked out a 3D model of Nexus 5 based on the leaks and Google has supposedly leaked the pictures of the new Nexus 5 as well! What the truth is, we will know soon enough.

Lumia Amber Update and Windows 8.1

The Lumia Amber update that began rolling out in August has been here for a while but if you still haven’t updated, go to your Lumia settings and do it. Amber update brings new features including the Glance Screen and cool features like rejecting calls by flipping your phone as well as the radio.

These features will go on to become a base for the GDR3 update for Windows phones. GDR3 speculators believe that the update will bring almost 20 new accent colors to glance which is currently limited to two only. Meanwhile, you can enjoy the glance and the Nokia Smart Cam on your Lumia.

That said, the main Windows update we are looking forward to it is the Windows 8.1! Microsoft recently paid $100,000 to researchers who discovered a bug in Windows 8.1 and now is all set to roll out the Windows 8.1 update on October 18th. Those who are using Windows 8 already will receive the update for free. Apart from bringing back the Start button to some extent, Windows 8.1 will feature minor tweaks to make the user experience more wholesome
