RoboCup 2015: Team Pakistan, the only team from South-Asia, Qualifies

Team Pakistan Qualitified for Robocup 2015

Team-NUST, Pakistan is the only team from South Asia which has been qualified for “RoboCup 2015 Standard Platform League Competition”. The team will compete against 29 international teams in China this year from 17th to 23rd July, 2015. This is the first time that any team has been selected from South Asia.

The RoboCup is an annual international robotics competition which is essentially a robot soccer world cup with five major competition domains, leagues, and sub-leagues. The Standard Platform League Competition focuses on the software development of the robots rather than the mechanics. It means that all the teams have same robots, but the fate of the competition is decided on the basis of the Artificial Intelligence embedded inside these robots.

The robot football teams from different universities have to prove that their robots are capable of exhibiting Artificial Intelligence in order to participate in this competition.
