Tax Payment Deadline For Vehicles Extended To January 15

ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, the Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department announced that the deadline for car token tax payments would be extended to January 15, 2025. This generous extension would provide vehicle owners an additional 15 days to pay their dues without incurring penalties.

Failure to make timely tax payments may result in the revocation of vehicle registrations and fines equal to 200% of the outstanding balance, according to the department.

Additionally, excise offices will be open until 8:00 p.m. for the convenience of citizens to pay token taxes. Bilal Azam, director of excise, urged car owners to take advantage of the extension so they don’t have to face legal consequences.

Citizens were offered a quick and hassle-free process by the department on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Trail 3 parking lot for vehicle-related services, such as registration, transfers, and token tax payments.

ICT Doorstep Service

A variety of administrative services are now available to residents’ homes through the ICT Doorstep service, which was also created by the ICT administration.

International driving permits, birth certificates, power of attorney paperwork, domicile certificates, and fuel permits are just a few of the services that will be made more accessible to the public through this program.

When citizens need help with paperwork, they can visit one of the facilitation centres or call the ICT Doorstep Service. To schedule an appointment and determine the location, they can call the toll-free number 051-111-383-383.

The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department is also hoping to streamline the timeframe for paying car token tax and other administrative duties by extending it.
