Take part in this educational hackathon & win a paid job placement

TiE Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) along with eTaaleem, Microsoft and WECREATE are conducting a hackathon, “eTaaleem Se Pakistan”. The hackathon on educational technology aims at joining teachers, educationists, parents, regulators and software developers to share their ideas and experience. This would allow them to come up with technological solutions to problems in Pakistan’s educational environment. It will take place on 9th and 10th of September 2015.

The idea is that the proliferation of broadband technologies and low-cost computing devices in Pakistan has reached a level where they can be leveraged to tackle issues in the education sector. The hackathon will link individuals with industry, giving them the tools to identify and rectify common problems in our classrooms as well as facilitate the creation of newer and more effective educational content and applications.

The event will have speakers from TiE Islamabad, eTaaleem, Microsoft and Telenor. Prizes for the winning idea include a cash prize, a 6-Month paid job placement in an educational technology company and access to Microsoft developer tools. Although software developers, graphic designers, educationists and educational technology experts are encouraged to apply, anyone can apply.

If anyone (or any organization) thinks they have an idea that can bring a positive change in a learning environment, they should definitely apply. Early bird registrations end 15th August and the event is for 50 participants, who will be selected on a first come first serve basis.

Details available here and on TiE Islamabad’s facebook page.
