Student Offers Rs1,000 in Answer Sheet to Appeal for Passing Marks

KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has recently addressed concerns regarding the integrity of answer sheets submitted during the Intermediate Part-I Annual Examinations for 2024.

Chairman Sharaf Ali Shah reported that some students included inappropriate content in their answer sheets, such as songs, stories, and even blank pages. In one instance, a student enclosed an Rs1,000 note with a note stating, “This is all I could manage, please pass me.”

In response to these incidents, Chairman Shah established a committee comprising subject experts and a principal to thoroughly investigate the matter. The committee’s objective is to ensure that all students are treated fairly and to uphold the integrity of the examination process. A complaints cell has also been set up to address any issues raised by students.

To alleviate the financial burden on students dissatisfied with their exam results, BIEK has announced a 50% reduction in the scrutiny fee.

Chairman Shah emphasized the board’s commitment to fairness, stating, “We will not allow any injustice against the students.” The board is dedicated to maintaining the credibility of the examination process and ensuring that all students receive a fair evaluation of their performance.
