Steam offers special discount for Pakistani gamers

If you are a gamer, you must be aware of Steam. It is a digital distribution gaming platform for PC and makes it fairly easy for gamers to manage their games. You can buy PC games through Steam and they’ll be linked to your account and added to your library forever.

Interestingly, Steam is now offering a hefty price drop for Pakistani gamers on some of the games. The discount is also available for other countries in the South Asian region including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

Steam is offering a discount on a total of 12 games right now and it may continue to add more games to the list. Right now, following games are on sale. We will keep updating the list if we find more games on sale.

In addition to the discount, Steam is also adding support for 10 new currencies and accepting payments from countries of the South Asian region and Pakistan is included in this region. It means that Pakistani gamers can now directly add their credit card to their Steam account and do not need to rely on Steam gift cards anymore.

Here’s what Steam said in an email to developers.

“As part of our continuing efforts to make Steam better for players around the world, we are now accepting game pricing in 10 new currencies and 1 new region. Please enter pricing for the following new currencies with launch planned for later this year:

  • Argentinian Peso (ARS)
  • Costa Rican Colón (CRC)
  • Israeli New Shekel (ILS)
  • Kazakhstani Tenge (KZT)
  • Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD)
  • Polish Zloty (PLN)*
  • Qatari Rial (QAR)
  • Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH)
  • Uruguayan Peso (UYU)
  • Vietnamese Dong (VND)
  • South Asian Pricing Region (USD discounted pricing for Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka)

With this update, Steam will support a total of 39 currencies and 80 payment methods, giving your games truly global reach.”

So gamers, are you excited about the discount?
