Startup Weekend Lahore set to return on 8th March

Startup Weekend Lahore is all set to return to the spotlight on 8th March. Held twice in a year, this will be the first edition of the widely-acclaimed event in 2019. Touching the history of the event very briefly, Startup Weekend is a series of events that aims to nurture startups and entrepreneurs. Started back in 2012, Startup Weekend has matured into a full-fledged credible platform for startups.

This year’s Startup Weekend is due to be held between 8th-10th March 2019. Startup Weekend Lahore is a 54-hour event that gives an opportunity to entrepreneurs to pitch their startup ideas in front of a panel of judges comprising of industry veterans and professionals from across the professional landscape of Pakistan.

Participants will have to find the right kind of people to team up with to complement each other’s skills in order to turn their ideas into tangibly observable action. The teams then go through a process of model creation, coding, designing and market validation in the next three days.

Startup Weekend will give entrepreneurs an opportunity to materialize their ideas into concrete products. With help from the panel of experts available on ground, teams would get assistance on how to transform their ideas into actual products.

Going into some of the details:

  •  The first day of Startup Weekend Lahore will entail 60-second elevator pitches in front of the panel of judges. After this, the best ideas will be shortlisted. It’s worth mentioning here that a few of the ideas might be merged with each other, putting together the teams behind the respective ideas so that they work on the final product together.
  •  The entire second day paired with most of the last day will be when the shortlisted teams will have unhampered access to the panel of mentors. During this time period, they’ll have to come up with their final product prototypes and simultaneously finalize their presentations/further refine their pitches.
  •  On the last day, the teams will be tasked with the presentations of their pitches and their products. They will in turn get feedback and constructive criticism on their ideas.

For the best ideas out there, fast-tracked incubation spots at the National Incubation Center Lahore are up for grabs.
