Startup Weekend, a global platform for entrepreneurs around the world, is coming to the cities of Karachi and Lahore this November!
Startup Weekend is basically a 54-hour entrepreneurial activity that is held over the course of three days. It empowers aspiring entrepreneurs to not only develop their ideas into an applicable business over the course of a weekend but also market and sell their product on a global scale. Currently present in more than 120 countries around the world, more than 210,000 entrepreneurs have benefited from Startup Weekend.
This year, this prestigious program is being arranged as a part of Global Startup Battle(GSB) from Friday, 20th of November to Sunday, the 22nd of November and will be coming to two cities of Pakistan,
The program is open to anyone with a small fee. Once registered, participants can pitch their idea and receive help and feedback on that from the speakers, mentors and coaches present there and over the weekend, they work on their ideas to convert them into viable business products. Since this event is also a part of their Global Startup Battle, it is also a kind of a competition and the winning team will get video participation in the Regional Startup and if they qualify, they’ll get a chance to go to Amsterdam to compete in the in finale of the Global Startup Battle.
If you don’t win, you still have a chance, as this year, there will also be teams present from NetSol at LUMS at the initial and final pitches to handpick the ideas they find promising and provide them incubation as their NSPIRE Incubation program. The winners will also get a chance to be accelerated to final rounds of LCE .
Startup Weekend has a really good track record in Pakistan and is responsible for some great Pakistani ventures like Groopic, BeautyHooked, and Infogistics.
The normal registration fee is Rs 1500/- but those who will register earlier, the fee for them is Rs.1000/-. You can register for Startup Weekend in your respective city by clicking the links given below,
