Peshawar based startup program, Revolt, is now taking applications for its first cycle. This program is a 3 months strictly residential opportunity. Peshawar2.0, the parent organization behind this program, likes to call it a unique acceleration and incubation program. Keeping the startup landscape in mind, it means that Revolt is targeting startups in idea and mid stages.
Revolt is the first startup programme based out of KPK. The programme is led by partners who are focused on connecting universities and the local market and industry in order to channel the creative and innovation potential of the youth especially students in the region towards economic development.
‘Revolt is the only real startup factory in the KP region. We are sector agnostic and welcome ideas from any sector provided it has the potential, and ideally solves any of the local problems we face. After almost 3 years of spade work, we now begin to seed the City with great startups one batch at a time’ said Dr Faisal Khan, the Lead Partner at Revolt.
‘What sets us apart from any other incubation programme in the country is that its run by full-time partners. You live, work and play right next to them and the other teams in a shared office space.’ said Salman Ahmad, who is also a partner at Revolt.
While talking about the business model, Faisal Khan said,
“Revolt will be taking 7-10% equity in return for 3months of access to space and events at basecamp, access to Peshawar’s 30+ Angels (we stitched a network of the richest in KP this year), and regular office hours + a chance to co-work, co-live and co-play with partners for 3 months. We believe this addresses all the problems faced by fledgling startups in KP, at least the 100+ we inspired at P2.”
