Snapchat has officially responded to the change.org petition – “Remove the new Snapchat update”, which was started after the latest redesign of the app. The petition has now crossed 1.2 million users sign, who are asking the company to roll back Snapchat’s new update, as users find it difficult and more complicated to use.
The petition started circulating after some intriguing tweet ensured the users that if 50,000 people will sign “change.org petition”, then Snapchat will have to bring back the old version of the app. At least, this made Snapchat respond to this misunderstanding as the petition has now been signed by more than million users, which is really a big deal.
But according to the company’s response, it’s clear that Snapchat is not going to come back with old version anytime soon but it has promised to make new update more easy to use, by giving tabs for the friends and discovery sections of the app to the personal Snapchat which was announced earlier with the release of GIF stickers. According to the company, these new tabs are soon going to be released for Android and iOS.
The response Snapchat’s CEO Evan Spiegel delivered last week at the Goldman Sachs Internat and Technology Conference was that it would take time to adjust to new update but once you adjusted, it will be more interesting to use.
An official statement from Snapchat mentioned below;
“We hear you, and appreciate that you took the time to let us know how you feel. We completely understand the new Snapchat has felt uncomfortable for many.
By putting everything from your friends in one place, our goal was to make it easier to connect with the people you care about most. The new Friends page will adapt to you and get smarter over time, reflecting who you’re most likely to be Snapping with at that moment. This same personalization is also true of the new Discover, which will adapt to you the more that you use it.
Beginning soon on iOS, and with Android in the coming weeks, we are introducing tabs in Friends and Discover, which will make it easier to find the Stories that you want, when you want them. Once you receive the update, you’ll be able to sort things like Stories, Group Chats, and Subscriptions, allowing you to further customize your own experience on the app.
This new foundation is just the beginning, and we will always listen closely to find new ways to make the service better for everyone. We are grateful for your enthusiasm and creativity. We are very excited for what’s ahead.”
The reason for this controversial redesign is to make Snapchat more convenient for every age users, plus it is now easy to make contact with your friends in one tab (which people believes to be more complicated).
Well, let see whether Snapchat will be able to cool down the anger of its users by coming up with a more convenient update or will they make the current circumstances worse.
