Snapchat now lets you play Filter Games with your face

Snapchat has added a new game feature to the lens camera which lets users play a game with their face.

Snapchat is now offering the lens-based game “Santa’s Helper” along with other filters and masks. Open Snapchat, press and hold your face in camera and then select Santa’s Helper lens and start enjoying the game.

The game will place your cropped face on a little elf and then you can take control of your movements on a ski slope by tilting your head to left or right. You have to avoid obstacles and collect coins and presents as a part of the mission. You can also challenge your friends to beat you by taking picture of yourself and your score at any moment during or after the game.

Snapchat has introduced this lens in the time of holiday season and as other lenses appear and disappear, this may also be temporary. Snapchat has tested some games earlier like Mac and Cheese, Puzzle Face Game etc.

Publishers and third party contributors can also contribute to Snapchat lens-based games. The image messaging and multimedia application, Snapchat incorporated Shazam, group video call and editing tools earlier in December and also the company is anticipated to go public in 2017.
