Snapchat has developed new augmented lenses that respond to your voice

Snapchat is rolling out a new set of augmented reality lenses that will respond to your voice.

Snapchat announced today that the company introduced new lenses that will respond to your voice without making a facial gesture. Most lenses on Snapchat ask users to make a specific face or tap the screen to animate the Lenses. But, this is not the case with these lenses. Users don’t need to make an eyebrows raise or sticking their tongue out. However, some lenses will animate when users say words like, “hi,” “love,” or “wow.”

These lenses are appearing today globally. If you come across one of these Lenses in your Snapchat app, there will be a guide for you how to use these voice-triggered Lenses. For now, they only respond to selected English words.

Snap has been increasing the use of Lenses across the app by introducing lots of interesting features, from creating realistic iPhone X-exclusive ones to augmented reality lenses to increase its user base. Meanwhile, Snapchat has been struggling to increase its user base and the company is hopeful that their investment in Lenses will result in an increased revenue and engagement.

On the other hand, Instagram just recently launched branded AR filters. Although Instagram’s lenses are not as unique or well-designed as Snapchat’s. However, Snapchat doesn’t have as large of an active user base.

Snapchat also has earned a huge revenue by entering into the Middle East. After a year of the application’s launch in the Middle East, Snap reported a growth rate of five percent. According to the daily digital magazine Ozymandias survey, Snapchat is preferred because it makes people feel safe by deleting all opened snaps and unopened ones within a month.

Saudi Arabia has 25 million active users of social networking sites. Last year’s growth rate was only 32%. This is a significant figure, implying that Saudi users spend a minimum of two hours and 34 minutes per day on social networking sites.
