Over the course of past week, Snapchat has added a really cool Augmented Reality feature to its desk.
The cartoon avatars, mostly known as Bitmojis on the photo-sharing platform, have just been implemented in Augmented Reality to make way for a cool new feature. Known as 3D Bitmoji World Lenses, the feature brings all the existing Bitmojis to life in the 3D world that exists before us.
Bitmojis were first introduced on the social media platform last year and its usage has grown ever since. This feature led the users created their own personalized emojis and share them through the platform. Now this animated bitmoji feature is bringing your characteristic emojis to life in 3D space near you. The application then films the scene as you watch bitmoji dancing in a physical space near you, through your smartphone screen.
Swipe right on the Snapchat homescreen to select the butterfly like icon.
The feature, 3D Bitmoji World Lenses, can be used on the application by swiping right to the lens carousel icon using the rear-facing camera. As the icon is set, various bitmojis setting will appear on your screen and you will be able to choose any one specific scene from there. The users will just have to point their smartphone’s rear camera to any surface around them and their bitmoji will appear there.
Snapchat is considered as the premier photo-sharing application for introducing features like stories and live filters etc. The other such platforms have mostly been accused of stealing features from this platform. Let’s see when and which of the other platforms copy these features too.
