“Siren App” is Pakistan’s first all emergency platform

A Karachi based tech company Jaffer Business Systems Private Limited (JBS) has launched an application named “Siren App” with the partnership of Commissioner Karachi’s Rescue 1299 project.

The application is meant to provide an instant response in the case of emergency by integrating with Rescue 1299. It would also be connected with Karachi’s other emergency services.

In the ceremony held in the commissioner house Karachi, the commissioner said that the Siren App would enhance the services of Rescue 1299 and also improve the response time.

The current situation in Pakistan’s largest populated city is getting out of the hand of administration. The flood warning issued in Karachi is demanding government’s effective role in providing services to its people. This initiative by the management will help to reduce the gap between them and citizens of Karachi. Using technology is the best way to regain the confidence of the people.

The app provide you few services which you can use with a click, first it helps you to connect with relevant service in case of emergency, secondly, it also sends a siren alert to your loved ones with the location. The application provides a live location sharing feature so in the case of emergency it would be easy to locate the person.

The application gives you relief from long hectic procedure to contact the relevant emergency, It provides a category for every emergency service.

This is not the first time an emergency services application has been launched in Pakistan. A similar app named Mohafiz has launched a few years ago which has contributed a lot by collaborating with the different institution of the country. Recently, it was announced to solve missing children cases in Punjab by teaming up with the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB).

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also running many mobile application, a month they have launched an app called “Emergency Alert PDMA KP”. The application provides guidelines to the users on how to deal with natural disasters or calamities.

In this digitized world, technology has evolved and mobile has become an important part of human life. Most people have smartphones and internet access. So it is a good approach for authorities to provide the facilities in the way, they can avail easily. Siren App is one of them and can be simply downloaded from Google App Store.
